Logicalis to begin offering private 5G service for enterprise customers
Logicalis is to become the first digital infrastructure specialist in the Irish market ready to design, deploy and manage private 5G for enterprise customers at scale.
The announcement follows landmark regulatory change by ComReg, enabling organisations beyond traditional telecommunications providers, to access dedicated private 5G spectrum for the first time. This development establishes an entirely new enterprise connectivity market in Ireland and represents one of the most significant advances in digital infrastructure in recent years.
Logicalis is investing €8 million in their private 5G service offerings beyond connectivity to complete end-to-end service in partnership with Cisco, Nokia and Neutral Wireless, encompassing network design, radio planning, deployment, security and integration, alongside fully managed services.
Access to private 5G spectrum by industry is a transformational development for Ireland’s economy, establishing the country as a competitive player on the global stage. The technology gives organisations complete control over their wireless infrastructure, delivering secure, low-latency connectivity across large operational sites where conventional Wi-Fi or public cellular networks may be unable to meet business-critical requirements. Private 5G supports a new generation of connected operations, including robotics, industrial AI, autonomous vehicles, IoT devices, edge computing and real-time operational analytics across sectors including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, logistics, ports, utilities and higher education.
