June release for LG Optimus Black

Following successful unveilings at the Consumer Electronics Show and the Mobile World Congress, the LG Optimus Black has been confirmed for a June launch in 50 different countries. The handset will be carrie by Meteor in Ireland as a free upgrade for bill-pay customers.

The handset runs Google’s Android operating system (version 2.2 Froyo), features a 4″ bright NOVA touch screen display with gesture control and gyro sensor and measures 122x64x9.2mm (making it the slimmest in its class) and weighs 109g. It is powered by a 1GHz processor, has a 5MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing cameras with 720p video recording. 2Gb Internal memory is expandable to32Gb via MicroSD.

Also included are Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, radio and MicroUSB connectivity.
