Belgium’s Education ministry has implemented Fuse open source technology from Irish software giant Iona Technologies for a new centralised student registration system.
The system, developed with information technology agency ETNIC, uses Iona’s Fuse enterprise service bus (ESB) to integrate multiple applications, servers and databases to achieve real-time registration and validation of over a million records.Records were previously stored in a variety of locations and formats, and the project required the integration of over 8,000 disparate client applications.
