The company showed new innovations in Flat TVs, unconventional sound systems for gamers.
The company has raised the bar for its Ambilight Flat TVs which now boast 1080P resolution and include new picture enhancements through
its Perfect Pixel HD Engine. Using this technology, each pixel of the incoming picture is enhanced to better match the surrounding pixels
resulting in a more natural picture. Artefacts and noise in all sources from multimedia to standard TV to highly compressed HD
are detected and reduced ensuring that the picture is clean and razor-sharp.
The Ambilight effect is generated by an LED light source to generate more saturated colours, consume less power and provide a more compact
design. Sizes now reach 32inch, 47inch and its first 52 inch LCD FlatTV.
The company also showcased Ambisound – a wall mounted integrated home theatre system as a complement to a FlatTV. The HTS8100 System
envelops the listener with full, multi-channel surround sound from just one bar of speakers and single subwoofer..
An evolution of Philips research into what it calls ‘ambience intelligence’, the company showed off Ambx, giving external effects while playing
an encoded game to these peripherals. Game developers can add layers to sensory experience beyond dynamic visuals.
Philips new portable DVD line features a memory card reader and can display photos, support video through iPod docking.
New 7 and 9inch PhotoFrames and Smart Album software to manage albums and add transition effects to slideshows.
The company also promises a 80Gbyte Streamium music player; Skype VOIP phones operating on DECT; Blu-ray players, Triple Writer PC Writer products, and 25Gbyte Blu-ray discs in 2007.
