Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has launched its new Ireland Channel programme for 2023. The programme aims to reinvigorate HPE’s partnerships in Ireland and is centred on strategic investment to support partners in their continued growth and success with the HPE portfolio including HPE GreenLake. This move is underpinned by the appointment of Heather Walls as the new Ireland Channel Leader.

Walls will assume full responsibility for Irish channel operations and sales. Having joined as a graduate in 2012 and worked as a storage specialist and partner business manager, she possesses extensive experience in the HPE channel business. Building on the knowledge gained through her role leading the HPE Early Careers Sales programme, Walls will support HPE Ireland’s investment in local talent to grow the channel team. This expansion of the industry leading HPE Early Careers programme will help the Ireland team to nurture and bring new Irish talent into the business.

An upcoming focus will be the new HPE Partner Ready Vantage. Announced in 2022, the programme builds upon the award winning HPE Partner Ready programme, purpose-built to deepen customer relationships and accelerate partner growth aligned to the customer lifecycle. HPE Partner Ready Vantage will roll out in phases over the next few years and will provide a unified framework for all Hybrid Cloud and HPE Aruba Networking partners.

Another key focus is face to face partner events, such as the recent HPE GEN11 Event Tour. Which stopped in Cork, Galway, Belfast, and Dublin, with HPE experts showcasing how HPE partners can help drive outcomes for their customers through the latest HPE ProLiant Gen11 portfolio. In March, HPE invites over 100 Irish channel partners, including resellers, distributors, MSPs to its signature Ireland Channel event, joined by senior executives from HPE. The focus of the event will be on market trends, shared opportunities, and the recognition of all Irish partners for their commitment to HPE.

“For us at HPE, our channel partners are a core driver for the overall business, including our HPE GreenLake strategy,” said Heather Walls, Ireland Channel manager, HPE. “My top priorities will be to strengthen the relationship with our Irish partners, find out how we can better support them and help them reach new markets and unlock new revenue streams. With an over 90% increase in HPE GreenLake sales through Ireland Channel partners in just the last quarter, we are particularly excited to see that this strategy is working.”

“When I started as Ireland manging director, I made it my primary goal to cement HPE’s position as a trusted partner, helping Irish customers and partners to boost satisfaction and drive growth,” said Ray McGann, Ireland managing director, HPE. “As the Ireland Channel manager, Heather will play a critical role in achieving this goal for our partners and I’m looking forward to welcoming here to our office in Leixlip. With her track record for success in helping partners leverage the entire HPE portfolio to support their customers to transform with market trends, as well as her expertise in developing early career talent she is a great asset for the entire team.”

In her new role, Walls will join the local Irish leadership team while continuing to report into the UK & Ireland Channel director, Lewis Simmonds, ensuring a concise and strategic approach throughout the UK & Ireland.

“We’re a partner first organisation, with a majority of our business going through channel. To continue our success, we need to prioritise the promotion of top talent with a partner first mindset,” said Lewis Simmonds, UK & Ireland Channel director, HPE. “By bringing more resource to the Irish channel, HPE and our partners can really take advantage of the opportunity in front of us to lead and be the vendor of choice.”
