Havok-powered games to win big BAFTA Video Games Awards

Dublin-based software company, Havok, has received a total of 27 nominations for 10 titles in the upcoming prestigious 2008 BAFTA Video Games Awards.

The BAFTA Video Games Awards recognises outstanding titles in a variety of categories, as voted on by British game journalists and industry figures. BAFTA will announce the winners on Tuesday, 10 March in London.

As recognised by BAFTA, some of the best games of the year run on the acclaimed Havok software, including Assassin’s Creed and Price of Persia by Ubisoft, Fable II by Microsoft, Fallout 3 by Bethesda Softworks, Guitar Hero: World Tour by Activision Blizzard, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

Havok products used in several of the BAFTA-nominated video gamesincluding the Halo series and Half-Life 2. Havok Physics is currently featured in over 200 games and will be included in over 65 games slated for release in 2009.

Recently, Havok was awarded a prestigious Game Developer Front Line Award for their middleware product Havok Physics.
