  This event will highlight a new strand of education and training that will be available to young people in Ireland from early next year to help them pursue a career in the technology sector, the FIT ICT Associate Professional.

  This is an ‘apprenticeship type’ opportunity in the tech sector where candidates will be sponsored while they ‘earn and learn’ by leading tech companies such as:

  • Accenture
  • AQmetrics
  • CIX
  • Fujitsu
  • IBM
  • Microsoft
  • SAP
  • Version 1

  It is a two year Level 6 programme after which successful candidates will progress their careers within the ICT sector.    

   The new courses, expected to be piloted from February with 200 students, will offer students the opportunity to ‘earn and learn’ as they work to secure a tech sector recognised qualification, the FIT ICT Associate Professional. The courses will combine college-based learning with work-based training. Participants will gain a qualification that will position them well for a career in a technology role across any sector.

  Attendees of the expo will hear from a range of industry speakers as they learn about the new FIT ICT Associate Professional courses. They will have an opportunity to engage with companies with open roles, learn from experts on the subject of CV and interview preparation, and bolster their knowledge around the use of social media in search of a job.
