Irish corporate email service provider, EuroKom, has taken a minority shareholding in CryptAll, a web-based encrypted mail service. Last year the two companies agreed a reseller and hosting deal, which saw EuroKom signing up as CryptAll’s first Irish reseller and also hosting the service in their data centre in Citywest, Dublin.

‘Since we first came to market with the product, EuroKom have been very supportive and we have worked closely together on both a technical and sales and marketing level, said Dermot Dunnion, Managing Director of CryptAll. ‘Their decision now to acquire a
shareholding further demonstrates EuroKom’s belief in CryptAll’s products and their future potential.’

Seamus Conlon, managing director of EuroKom, says that while sales of encrypted mail products have been slow, there has already been some increased interest this year.
‘Senior managers are becoming increasingly aware of the potential pitfalls of not securing sensitive data. The recent strengthening of the Data Protection Act places additional responsibilities on company directors who need to be serious about their duty
of care in relation to data privacy.’

CryptaAll is a web-based encrypted mail solution, which requires only a browser to access. CryptAll does not require installation on each PC, and can therefore be more easily deployed throughout an organisation.
