EMC Corporation third quarter financial results revealed year-over-year revenue growth for EMC’s Information Infrastructure business, VMware and Pivotal.
The US technology giant, employing 60,000 people worldwide and whose Centre of Excellence is based in Ovens, Co Cork, reported consolidated revenue for the quarter of $5.5 billion, an increase of 5% compared with the year-ago period.
Operating cash flow grew 25% to $4.7 billion in the year to date. Free cash flow grew 26% year over year, generating $3.7 billion in the year to date. The company ended the third quarter with $17.5 billion in cash and investments.
Bob Savage, vice president and managing director of EMC’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Cork, said: "Through our CoE in Cork, one of EMC’s largest development sites outside the US, EMC is at the forefront of global IT where Big Data is driving the most important high tech revolution since the Internet.
"Having recently announced the creation of 200 highly skilled jobs and the opening of a new EMC office as part of a fresh €100 million investment in Ireland, EMC is consolidating our presence as one of the country’s largest employers and a partner for economic recovery through innovation and new technologies, positioning Ireland as a hub within the global IT revolution."
Among EMC’s recent business wins in Ireland are Irish Water, Synhcronoss, Irish Life and Ordnance Survey Ireland.
