The Donegal County Enterprise Board has recently appointed Edel Neely as its E-commerce strategy manager. ‘Basically I am here to support small businesses with their IT issues by performing audits, carrying out training, run workshops and do whatever is required,’ said Neely. ‘I would help with such issues as how to buy a PC or how to get a Website up and running.’

Last year the County Enterprise Board ran a number of workshops but, as Neely pointed out, SMEs are often so busy they are unable to send anyone to them. ‘So the Donegal Board decided to have someone who could give the support needed.’

Neely’s first task will be to assess the needs of businesses in the Donegal region and will shortly be drawing up a plan for the Autumn/Winter period. She will also focus on promoting the Donegal Website (www.in-donegal.com), which already features approximately 30 companies from the area.
