Liquid asset: Never mind the sinking euro . . . here’s a mobile phone that floats
Irish mobile network provider Just Mobile hopes shoppers will splash out on what is described as the world’s first floating phone, the JCB Tradesman.
The Tradesman is exclusive to Just Mobile and is available in Spar stores, including Spar Express, Eurospar, Mace and XL outlets.
Priced at €99.99, it comes with a Just Mobile SIM pre-loaded and €9 free call credit. The phone is dust-proof, Bluetooth enabled, has a built-in torch, FM radio and a one-year warranty.
The Tradesman can be submerged in water, left out in the rain – or even dropped down the toilet – and will still ring, says its maker. Its hardened plastic case is designed to withstand drops of up to three meters, making it handy for those who work or play outdoors.
