Dimension Network Systems, a Dublin network integration firm set up in 2002, has formed a partnership with fSONA, a manufacturer of optical wireless systems, to distribute the SONAbeam FSO product range.
Dimension Network Systems and fSONA have already installed FSO systems for a number of Irish clients, ranging from LAN extensions in campus environments to point-to-point links and citywide networks offering broadband connectivity to the community.
SONAbeam FSO technology uses invisible light beams to deliver high-speed wireless communications. The advantages of the technology include negating the need to dig up roads to lay fibre cable, or to obtain radio frequency spectrum licences. It is also said to be immune to electro-magnetic interference.
