Cork Chamber Chief Executive, Conor Healy, has welcomed the announcement that gaming company Blizzard Entertainment is to establish operations in Cork with the creation of up to 100 new jobs.
Mr. Healy stated that, “this is a very welcome announcement for the Cork region particularly as it follows quickly after the announcement last week of the SolarWinds, Eirebloc and Apex Fund Services projects. The gaming sector is growing rapidly and it is a very positive development that Blizzard has chosen Cork for this new operation”.
Mr. Healy also pointed out the significance that this project is to be based in Blackpool as it “clearly highlights what can be achieved through advance development of top quality office and operational infrastructure”.
Blizzard is known for developping the World of Warcraft series of fantasy games, which are played online by millions of gamers daily.
