Complete Telecom pens three-year deal with Greenstar
Irish-owned managed network and telecoms services provider Complete Telecom has signed a three-year contract with waste management company Greenstar. Under the the deal Complete Telecom will provide connectivity to Greenstar’s 20 sites, varying in speeds from 2-10Mb/s. The contract is expected to reduce Greenstar’s annual telecommunications costs by 60%.
The network will incorporate ‘link bonding’ technology, which allows the bundling of several 3G, DSL or Ethernet-presented lines at rural sites where telecommunications connectivity speeds are poor. Unlike load balancers, which distribute network traffic in line with available capacity, Viprinet’s link bonding technology can actually bundle up to six links (3G, ADSL, or Ethernet) together to create a single, ‘fat pipe’.
Russell Gascoine, IT manager with Greenstar said: "The decision ultimately came down to price, but the Complete Telecom bid was the only one that offered Private DSL-type speeds at competitive rates… The Viprinet ‘bonding’ solution, proposed by Complete was the differentiator for us and provided the ultimate in flexibility at sites where DSL speeds were low."
The three year deal also incorporates a managed service that includes a management and reporting tool which provides full visibility of real-time telecoms usage at each site.
Complete Telecom’s client base includes high profile public and private organisations such as DAA, Department of Finance, Health Service Executive, BWG Foods, CityJet, Icon Clinical, RTE, Wyeth, An Garda Siochána and EBS.
