CMS Distribution acquires Interactive Ideas

CMS Distribution has acquired Interactive Ideas, a value-added enterprise software distributor based in the UK. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Established in 1994, Interactive Ideas employs 40 people in the UK and reported a turnover of £33 million last year. Its customers include Red Hat, Novell, Bitdefender, Acronis and Suse.

Speaking to TechCentral.ie, CMS group managing director Frank Salmon said the acquisition was good news for its operation in Kiltimagh, Co Mayo, where it is expected to drive the creation of 10 jobs over the next two years.

Salmon described Interactive Ideas as “a growing business coming from a position of strength”.

Interactive is an expert in bringing enterprise solutions to market and are a very successful business, combined with CMS we will be able to offer our customers a broader range of leading innovative enterprise solutions with the best support in the industry.”

CMS Distribution has offices in Mayo, Harrigate and London. It currently employs 200 people and has an annual turnover of £175 million.

Frank Salmon was recognised as ICT Person of the Year at the 2013 ICT Excellence Awards.
