CarTrawler, the B2B technology platform for car rental and mobility solutions to the global travel industry, today has acquired Paris-based travel insurtech business Koala for an undisclosed sum.

CarTrawler delivered revenues of €172 million, and achieved 14% year-on-year increase in car booking volumes in 2024. Significant investment into the business continued, with €8 million directed towards research and development to enhance the company’s proprietary Connect Platform, and expand its AI and data science capabilities.

Koala’s platform powers high-conversion insurance products such as ‘cancel for any reason’, trip disruption cover and more traditional travel insurance products across a network of over 70 partners in 17 countries.
