Novell users can now protect critical data with CA’s Brightstor ARCserve Backup for NetWare. The new version 9 offers ease-of-use, reliability and performance, along with a simplified licensing structure.

BrightStor ARCserve Backup allows customers to build their own fully customised data protection system for virtually any distributed environment, regardless of platform. With it, data from Novell NetWare, Microsoft Windows, Linux and Unix servers can be backed up to a Novell NetWare server.

BrightStor ARCserve Backup for NetWare provides support for NetWare 6 environments, including Open File Agent technology with ‘Copy on Write’ capability. This allows critical data to be continually protected, even while applications are in use.

BrightStor ARCserve Backup for NetWare also integrates with the recently released Windows version, important for mixed environments found in many organisations. A Linux version of ARCserve Backup is in beta testing and is due for to be available in early 2003.

CA has been in the NetWare data availability market since its acquisition of Cheyenne Software and its ARCserve product line in 1996.
