Amazon is adding 300 new jobs to its operation in Ballsbridge, Dublin. The company will be seeking datacentre technicians, software engineers and customer support staff. The new positions are expected to be filled within two years.

This news also comes as Amazon celebrates the start of its tenth year in Dublin. In September 2004, Amazon established a presence in Ireland and since invested over €1.5 billion in the local economy.

Amazon’s first employees in Ireland were datacentre technicians and networking staff and since then the business has seen dramatic growth both in the numbers of staff and the diversity of roles. Dublin has also been a location for the engineering of new technologies that support a number of Amazon’s businesses including its retail operations, devices and Amazon Web Services.

Amazon also has offices in Cork employing over 800 Customer service and seller support staff.
