Chocks away! Costs have nosedived while efficiency is soaring at SR Technics

Civil aviation technical services provider SR Technics has signed a major software and services agreement with Drogheda-based Armac Systems, a provider of intelligent inventory planning solutions.

SR Technics supports a diversified global customer base with 700 Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

The deal will see SR Technics expand its deployment of Armac’s RIOsys inventory planning solution software as well as consultancy support services.

Armac’s RIOsys software will also see service across other aerospace business units of the Mubadala Development Company, the Abu-Dhabi based owner of SR Technics.

Where it has been applied to date in SR Technics, RIOsys has reportedly delivered 25% reductions in inventory spend, and with this expanded agreement RIOsys is expected to improve stock turn by over 30% for the group.

Armac’s sollution combines data from ERP systems with the knowledge of inventory planners and uses its proprietary algorithms to provide purchasing decisions to inventory planners.

As SR Technics’ Brian Gillett notes: “The challenge of managing inventory with tens of thousands of parts in a complex maintenance supply chain is extremely difficult, and conventional methods are inadequate. With RIOsys we run a monthly calculation with updated data, and we can quickly prioritise a large number of inventory item decisions.”

Gillett added: “We have a global focus now, and we absolutely need RIOsys to give us a multilayered scientific model to enable us to manage our inventory effectively.”
