Zonealarm 6.5, says Checkpoint, is the first suite to address the most common forms of identity theft facing users including PC attacks such as viruses, key-loggers and other forms of spyware, protecting both the PC and it’s users from both online and offline threats. Other new features included spy site blocking, a new game mode, and strengthened anti-spyware and OSFirewall features to protect users against the widest spectrum of security threats.

New Zonealarm Security Suite 6.5 features identity theft protection that is designed to actively defend users through credit card monitoring and an internet surveillance service.

Internet surveillance, says Checkpoint, helps reduce the risk of credit card fraud by continuously searching the Internet with sophisticated web crawling technology that detects if registered credit cards are being sold or traded online by identity thieves.

The new version also features spy site blocking: prevents an internet user from unintentionally ending up at a malicious web site.

Zonealarm’s OSFirewall, unveiled last year, utilises a unique behaviour-based strategy to stop viruses, spyware, rootkits, Trojans, ransom-ware and other forms of malicious software from infiltrating a PC. Rather than occasionally scanning for existing spyware infections and removing it after the damage has already occurred, the OSFirewall guards the health of a PC at its core. This kernel-level firewall monitors suspicious activity affecting the operating system, programs and files, and disables destructive programs.

A single user license for the new 6.5 suite costs €49.95 and can be downloaded from Zonelabs.com or bought as a boxed version from good retailers.
