Xilinx senior VP and CTO Dr. Ivo Bolsens, who flew in to address the event, said the firm would recruit more PhD-level researchers to support its Dublin R&D initiatives.

The firm employs 250 at its Dublin office, where it operates an R&D, engineering and IT centre along with centralised finance, legal, HR and supply chain management functions.
