Digital learning specialist Wriggle has more than doubled the roll-out of its mobile learning programme to 50 schools this academic year. Over 5,000 students throughout the country will now use ‘digital schoolbags’ consisting of mobile devices and digital textbooks in place of hardcopies.

Wriggle was founded in 2012 as the digital learning arm of Irish IT services firm Typetec.

Beryl Furlong, director of education, Wriggle, said: "The response to Wriggle has been incredibly positive over the past year. Twenty-five schools started with us last September. All of these will continue the one-to-one mobile learning programme with their incoming first years, having experienced first hand what a difference it has made to the learning environment."

Wriggle has created a complete package to provide students and teachers with everything they need to make the move to digital textbooks on mobile devices.
