The Williams F1 team will be using a new unified communications platform from this weekend’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Williams will be using the ShoreTel unified comms platform across its organisation, including the F1 team at trackside, Williams Advanced Engineering and the Williams’ Technology Centre in Qatar.

The platform includes the ShoreTel IP-PBX (private branch exchange), ShoreTel Mobility client licenses to extend UC applications to mobile devices, Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecoms (DECT) handsets, conferencing services, and the ShoreTel Enterprise Contact Centre (ECC) system.

Claire Williams, deputy team principal and commercial director at Williams, said, "This new partnership is one which will benefit not only the Formula One team but every area of our business as we continue to diversify and expand into new areas."
