Office managers and IT administrators will be able to handle the physical security of their premises with a new range of internet controlled locks.

The locks are battery operated and can be opened with a standard key or four digit password. However, they can also be opened and closed remotely using a computer or mobile phone.

The locks, dubbed LiNK by developers Schlage, have a wireless connection built in and can also register who opens and closes the doors. The wireless signal is 128-bit encrypted to protect against unauthorised access.
