Wacom has unveiled a new input set for home users. With physical dimensions measuring 149 x 12.3mm, the Volito pen-set consists of a black, transparent tablet, a pressure-sensitive pen, and a ball-free mouse, both of which are cordless and batteryless.

Included with the input set, are six software applications: Arcsoft PhotoImpression can be used for processing and editing digital images with the pen, and ArcSoft Funhouse can be used to create image collages. The JustWrite Office application allows handwritten notes and sketches to be inserted directly into Microsoft Word and Excel documents.

Users who wish to back up their Word documents and protect them against unauthorised access can now simply enter their signatures instead of a password with the Volito pen and Penflow for Word software application. System requirements for the Volito pen-set include a USB-compatible PC and Windows 98/Me/2000 or XP as the user’s operating system of choice. The Volito is expected to retail for around €85.
