Four US companies have announced the creation of 165 jobs in Ireland at the Dublin Web Summit taking place today in the National Convention Centre. Pivot, Engine Yard, Commence and Pinger will be generating positions in technical support and operations.
One of North America’s largest value-added IT solutions providers, Pivot Acquisition Corp will open a Shared Services Centre to support the company’s rapid international growth and expansion in Galway. It is expected 25 jobs will come onstream in 2011 with up to 75 additional jobs in 2012.
Cloud computing service provider Engine Yard, an IDA Ireland client company, is to establish its EMEA headquarters in Dublin, creating 30 jobs in the next three years. Its clients include MTV, Groupon and Change.org.
Commence International’s Irish office will be responsible for the sales and service of the company’s popular web-based CRM software. Commence CRM is targeted at mid-size companies and small enterprises and is a popular alternative to competitive products such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Salesforce.com. Commence CRM is web based and is deployed in a cloud computing environment.
Pinger, a company looking to disrupt the mobile space by developing free call and text message solutions is establishing its EMEA Headquarters and a customer and technical support operation in Dublin which will result in the creation of 15 jobs over the next two years.
WMinister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said: "A key part of this government’s strategy to create employment and growth in the economy is to ensure that we can build on our established base of world-leading technology companies. This means ensuring that more and more dynamic and innovative international companies locate operations here, and that more indigenous companies start and expand on the back of their presence here."
