Dell today announced the launch of an ultra-compact Dimension 5150C desktop computer, weighing only 7.4kg (16.4lbs). This thin desktop computer combines compact design with the latest technology, and is available now for £629 including VAT and delivery.

The Dimension 5150C features a chassis trimmed in alpine white and arctic silver colours.  The design incorporates the new industry standard Balanced Technology Extended (BTX) specifications and Dell’s Quietcase technology, both of which are aimed at reduced noise and improved reliability and cooling.

The Dimension 5150C features Intel’s Pentium D 840 dual-core processors – two processors embedded on one chip – which can enable uses to run multiple applications simultaneously without experiencing slower performance.  As well as these processors the Dimension 5150c can also be configured with a range of Intel Pentium 4 6×0 processors, offering single core high end performance, along with an incredible memory capacity up to 4GB of 533MHZ DDR2 memory.

The Dimension 5150C can be configured to customers’ preference with a high end processor and a choice of the Intel GMA 950 or ATI Radeon X600 128MB graphics solutions to meet the needs of demanding applications. As well as this there is a choice of a wide selection of hard drive capacities, up to 500GB, optical drives including the new DVD+/-RW solution and a high end audio card.

The front panel of the 5150C slides open for access to a range of ports, including an optional 9-in-1 media flash card reader that allows users customers to conveniently transfer all files between PCs or PDAs. There are also seven external USB 2.0 and 1394a ports to enable connection to all compatible peripheral devices.

The Dimension 5150C is available direct from Dell priced at €949 including VAT and delivery.
