Transcend has unveiled its USB2.0 JetFlash 185 thumb drive. The JetFlash 185 measures 49.5 mm long by 15.8 mm wide, with a 7.4 mm width allowing for easy use with closely stacked USB ports. Each JetFlash 185 comes with a short chain for hooking it to a key ring.</p>
The new drive is based on Hi-Speed SLC NAND-type Flash with read and write speeds of 10~12MB/s and 8MB/s respectively. It is enhanced for Windows ReadyBoost technology, which can accelerate program running speeds and increase memory performance, the maker claims.
The drive comes bundled with software applications offering eight functions: AutoLogin, PC-Lock, Favorites, Secret-Zip, E-mail, DataBackup, My JetFlash, and Online update. Transcend’s new drive is compatible with Windows 98SE/2000/Me/XP and Vista. It comes in capacities of 1, 2, and 4Gb, with a lifetime warranty. Prices start at about EUR*27.90 for the 1GB model.
