Training was identified as one of the top three barriers in the national e-business strategy review in April. The review also noted a lack of training and education courses for non-technological managers and stated that the relevance, cost effectiveness, ease of access and time required in undertaking these courses are critical.
The benefits of e-business to smaller businesses includes the ability to reach new markets; reduced administration and overhead costs, increased efficiency and improved communication with customers, suppliers and distributors.
As a direct response, Chambers Ireland and the FÁS One Step Up Programme have held a number of successful training events throughout Ireland covering e-business strategies, HR management, Internet sales and marketing and Risk management.
