The 12” Portégé R200 is Toshiba’s new ultra portable flagship notebook PC and is released in celebration of the company’s 20th year in notebook PC innovation. The notebook has a 12.1” XGA TFT display (1024 x 768) and weighs less than 1.3kg.
Toshiba brings its latest advances in high density mounting technologies to the Portégé R200, integrating a low-loss printed-wiring board (PWB) that deploys a new material to reduce current and voltage losses during high speed signal transmission. The R200 comes with an Intel Pentium M processor UltraLow Voltage 753 (1.2 GHz, 400Mhz, 2MB 2nd level cache), and Intel 915GMS integrated graphics solution with up to 128MB VRAM, and up to a 60GB hard disk drive. There is 256MB DDR2 memory which is expandable to 1280. Connectivity is easy with 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 PCMCIA card slot, 1 SD card slot, Fast Infrared port, and 1 RGB port. The R200 has an integrated Bluetooth, V.90 modem, an integrated wireless LAN 802.11 b/g, and 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN support.
The Toshiba R200 comes with the Toshiba EasyGuard Premium Package and has a battery life of 5 hours with an optional battery increasing that to eleven hours. The Toshiba R200 is available now at €2237.
