Peribit Networks, SR-55 Sequence Reducer is a Gigabit Ethernet product that uses the company’s molecular sequence reduction (MSR) technology to provide WAN capacity gains up to ten times by eliminating transmission of repeated data patterns.
The SR-55 makes use of the latest version of MSR which allows users to prioritise traffic by application through the network. In addition, it will allow increased reduction rates on all traffic, and significantly on voice over IP (VoIP).
The SR-55 can increase WAN capacity for a wide range of network applications and protocols while supporting or setting traffic priorities. New bandwidth management features give customers the quality of service capabilities they need to create and prioritise WAN bandwidth for mission-critical applications.
Sequence Reducers give IT managers the choice of preserving and honouring QoS settings already established elsewhere in the network, or letting the Sequence Reducer automatically set essential QoS priorities for various traffic flows. With either option, the product ensures that traffic priorities are retained across the network. Peribit’s products also complement products using other QoS features such as TCP rate shaping.
The SR-55 Sequence Reducer has two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. It will begin shipping in September. Pricing starts at €6,200 per unit.
