Thousands of Eircom customers set for 24Mb/s upgrade

Eircom has announced an upgrade to its services that will see 20,000 customers on their their 8Mb/s package have their connection speeds automatically increased to 24Mb/s.

The ISP released a statement saying it was servicing 300,000 customer on its next-generation broadband network, and that it expected 75% of working Eircom lines would be connected to NGB-enabled exchanges by the end fo this year.

The 24Mb/s NGB Ultimate product has also been reduced in price by 17% to €39.82 per month. Up to 850,000 customers nationwide can take advantage of this product.

The 110,000 customers on currently on the existing up to 8Mb/s NGB Regular product will now have their usage allowance increased from 30Gb per month to an unlimited monthly data allowance (subject to fair usage).
