
Tech Excellence Awards winners share thoughts on big night in May
John Purdy, co-founder of Ergo, received the lifetime achievement award for his longstanding commitment to the technology sector in Ireland at the 2024 Teh Excellence Awards.
Carmel Owens from GlobalLogic was named person of the year at the 2024 Tech Excellence Awards in association with IP Telecom held last night at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire. An industry veteran with some 20 years of service in the technology sector, Owens joined the Athlone-based managed services firm Sidero as CEO in 2021. This year she oversaw its merger with GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company.
The company of the year award went to Cubic Telecom, which made the headlines last year with news of Softbank’s €473 million investment, valuing the IoT connectivity specialist at more than €900 million.
Speaking to TechCentral.ie, CIO of the year winner Paul Delahunty said: “It was a real privilege to be just considered a nominee, never mind actually tae away an award. This couildn’t have been done without the help of my colleagues at Stryve, it really is such a great place to work.”
