Stores get the knowledge with ForeSite

Businesses can now evaluate store networks, analyse market changes and respond to competitor behaviour using an application developed by the Irish firm Gamma, a company that specialises in Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

Called ForeSite, the online tool provides direct access to up-to-date local market information in map and tabular format from a variety of data sources including the Kompass company database, the Census of Population and mapping from the Ordnance Survey. It is suitable for a number of industry sectors, from retailing to healthcare.

Using ForeSite, retailers can evaluate and profile existing stores and identify potential store locations by analysing local spending patterns, residential and working population and competitor presence.

The application is viewed through a standard Internet browser and requires no internal IT resource or in-house data maintenance. As a result, Gamma claims it is much cheaper to implement than standard network based GIS or marketing information systems.
