Minister for Small Business John Perry announced the launch of the SourceDogg.com PhD Scholarship for Excellence in Procurement Research in the Centre for Executive Education in Dublin City University. The successful candidates will receive fees funded by DCU and a €20,000 stipend for associated expenses from SourceDogg.com. The scholarship relates to the research area of procurement.
SourceDogg.com provides procurement software that makes it cheaper to source suppliers globally. The company has a range of clients include companies in healthcare, hospitality/entertainment, manufacturing, retail, services, and transport and logistics. Earlier this year it announced the creation of 80 jobs earlier this year for their Galway and Dublin offices.
Minister Perry said: "The PhD Scholarship in Procurement Research which is funded by DCU and SourceDogg.com is an excellent example of a small Irish company partnering with a leading academic institution to allow a graduate the opportunity to complete world class research on the socially important area of procurement."
Dr. Paul Davis, lecturer in Strategic Procurement at Dublin City University is a global leader in the area of procurement and will be supervising the successful candidate selected for the SourceDogg.com PhD Scholarship.
CEO of SourceDogg.com Mark Scanlon said "We are delighted to be in a position to fund the PhD scholarship in DCU. In the current economic climate it is important to continue to invest in and support the enhancement of postgraduate research in order to develop a smart economy in Ireland."
