Sony is offering subscribers to its embattled PlayStation Network an olive branch in the form of free games. While the service been brought back online in the US, Europe and Latin America, the corporation has not been permitted return to Japan until its government is satisfied adequate security measures have been put in place. The PlayStation store remains offline.

Sony made the announcement Monday, saying it was a way of thanking users for their “patience, support and continued loyalty.”

PlayStation Network and Qriocity subscribers will be able to register for two new games each – either in PS3 or PSP format – from the PlayStation Store within 30 days of it returning online.

PS3 users can choose from Dead Nation, inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, and Wipeout HD + Fury. For PSP the options are LittleBigPlanet, ModNation, Pursuit Force and Killzone: Liberation.
