HomeBond, the national housing guarantee organisation, is running a new document and process management system from SoftCo in a bid to get a wider handle on its paperwork.

The new system enables authorised staff to instantly retrieve all membership files and accompanying documentation either via the Web or directly from their desktops.

SoftCo Enterprise is a document and process management system that helps to streamline business practices by providing a central means of capturing, storing and retrieving electronic and paper-based information.

According to HomeBond, the new system has enabled the organisation to increase productivity, retrieve membership files more easily and increase customer satisfaction. ‘Moreover we have seen a reduction in the time required in responding to our clients queries,’ said Michael Green, managing director of Homebond.

The State-run organisation exists to guarantee purchasers of new dwellings protection against major structural defects for a certain number of years where it is not possible to get satisfaction from the original builder. Its service has been expanded over the years to protect against major non-structural defects and loss of deposits or stage payments.

Homebond has previously run a document management system from Software Dimensions that was installed in 1998.
