Irish advertisers gain access to Skype’s Irish user base of 90,000, as well the opportunity to run cross-market campaigns in up to a dozen other countries. The company announced the move, and its partnership with digital sales agency AD2ONE to sell into Ireland at an event in Dublin.
Speaking at the presentation Vaughan Denny, advertising sales manager EMEA at Skype, said: "The user experience on Skype is always a priority so we believe we have the solution where we offer a sponsorship ad based on one brand per day not only provides value for premium brands but does not detract from our user’s experience."
So far Skype has struck large form advertising deals with Groupon, Nokia, Universal Pictures, and Visa.
