
Shannon ABC rebrands as CABR
Shannon ABC has been rebranded as the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR). Taking an all-island approach and specialising in supporting Irish businesses in solving scientific and technical challenges, CABR partners with food, biotech and life science companies across the island of Ireland, driving innovation and growth.
The Centre aims to support Irish businesses on their innovation journey through their focus on the biosciences, cutting-edge equipment, and a dedicated industry-led team.
Marina Donohoe, divisional manager – research & innovation at Enterprise Ireland, said: ‘“This new name reflects the Centre’s pivotal role in advancing innovation and addressing the complex scientific and technical challenges faced by Irish businesses. CABR continues to be a cornerstone of the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Network, offering cutting-edge expertise, state-of-the-art equipment, and a dedicated team that empowers companies to bring innovative solutions to life. Enterprise Ireland remains committed to a strong and continued partnership with CABR as they build on their legacy of success and drive future innovation.”
The Centre, established in 2008, is the only Technology Gateway collaborating across two Technological Universities, Technological University of the Shannon and Munster Technological University. Dr Tim Yeomans, centre manager, CABR, said: “Shannon ABC has been a fundamental support for hundreds of companies across Ireland for the past 16 years, the re-naming to the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research will provide a great springboard to support hundreds more.”
