EMC OnCourse is a new software package that enables organisations to manage and automate the movement of files and data across geographically dispersed locations, from a central point.

EMC OnCourse is suitable for moving data from many servers to one, one server to many, or peer-to-peer replication of directories and files over IP.

It caters for needs such as pulling data from remote locations for centralised backup; reporting and analysis; or delivering frequent data updates out to branch offices.

OnCourse offers automated, policy-based file distribution alternative to the time-intensive, unreliable methods of manual and scripted file distribution many companies use today. OnCourse allows secure peer-to-peer file transfers between the Celerra family of NAS solutions, Windows powered NAS devices and servers, Unix servers, and Linux servers. OnCourse also integrates with existing infrastructure applications, such as CRM and ERP, to simplify and automate current manual data flows, while offering improved file transfer processes.
