Perfection 1660 Photo from Epson is an A4 scanner that offers true 1600 x 3200dpi for high-quality images and 48bit input and output to capture and interpret maximum colour data.
The scanner is fitted with a USB 2.0 high-speed interface and it also comes complete with a built-in 35mm x 6 frame transparency unit for scanning film and negatives. The Perfection 1660 Photo can be used for standard photographs, film or text documents.
The device has four QuickStart buttons for one-touch scanning. Users also have the option to save an image which has been scanned from film, as a PRINT Image Matching (PIM) file. This produces brighter and more vibrant pictures when printed from a PIM-compatible printer.
The Perfection 1660 also has scan to PDA and scan to PDF features. Software bundled with the scanner includes Epson Twain 5.6, which operates in Full Auto mode to produce professional images with minimal user intervention. Epson Twain 5.6 has document type recognition and auto skew correction capabilities.
Also included is ArcSoft PhotoImpression 4 for photo editing and Presto! OCR software which converts hard copy into text documents.
