Salesforce has raised its revenue and profit forecast for fiscal year 2026, thanks to continued investments in cloud technology and growing adoption of its AI platform Agentforce. Despite global economic uncertainties, companies continue to invest in artificial intelligence to modernise their digital infrastructure.

Since Agentforce’s launch, Salesforce has signed more than 8,000 deals, half of which have already been paid. Annual recurring revenue from Data Cloud and AI products has now passed the $1 billion mark. Below the line, net profit of $1.54 billion, or $1.59 per share, remained, compared with $1.53 billion, or $1.56 per share, a year earlier.

For fiscal year 2026, Salesforce now expects revenue between $41 billion and $41.3 billion, up from its previous forecast of $40.5 billion to $40.9 billion. In the first quarter, the company reported revenue of $9.83 billion, exceeding analysts’ expectations.

Salesforce announced this week that it is acquiring Informatica for about $8 billion, marking its largest acquisition since buying Slack Technologies in 2021. The move comes after Salesforce paused its acquisition policy under pressure from activist investors calling for better profitability. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Salesforce’s position in the fast-growing AI market, particularly in data management.

Informatica provides a cloud-based data management platform that helps companies manage and integrate data. By acquiring Informatica, Salesforce can better control how enterprise data is managed and used, which is essential for integrating generative AI into its products. Salesforce has closed more than 1,000 paid deals for Agentforce, its platform for creating AI-powered virtual representatives.

The acquisition price of $25 per share represents a premium of about 30% to Informatica’s May 22 closing price.

Salesforce’s recent acquisitions include Tableau Software in 2019 for $15.7 billion and Slack Technologies in 2021.
