The Office of the Revenue Commissioners has opted for computers from HP to replenish its staff’s PCs for the next two years. Following an open EU tender, the Office awarded contracts for the supply of both notebook and desktop computers to HP partner Hibernia Computer Services.
With some 6,500 permanent staff in 130 locations around the country, the Office of the Revenue Commissioners has a need to replace and upgrade personal computers on a frequent and ongoing basis. “Technology is key to the successful operation of Revenue, both at the desktop and on the road,” said Maureen Byrne, IT manager for business services and desktop technologies. “With an IT estate of our size, timely and value-for-money replenishment is vital.”
Hibernia Computer Services won the contract with its proposal to supply the HP DC7100 Desktop PC and the HP NC6120 Portable Notebook PC. According to Maureen Byrne, “The HP products were the most economically advantageous on this occasion and best met the Office’s requirements for an efficient, cost effective solution.”
Hibernia Computer Services has been a supplier of IT products and services to the Revenue Commissioners for almost a decade. “We are delighted to be awarded this contract with the Revenue Commissioners, which further enhances the already excellent relationship that we both enjoy,” says Bob Murray, MD of Hibernia Computer Services.
