Rehab Recycle win the Green Corporate Citizen Award

Rehab Recycle picked up the Green Corporate Citizen Award at the 2012 Green Awards ceremony held in Dublin last week. Rehab Recycle is among the winners of prestigious Green Awards given to companies, organisations and individuals for their efforts in tackling climate change through sustainable initiatives.

Rehab Recycle is a social enterprise established in 1984 and has developed into a successful multi-national company providing a range of recycling solutions. It currently employs 138 people, 85 of whom have a disability, supporting them in maximising their skills and talents.

Other winners include the Department of Education won two awards for the Overall Green Award and the Green Building Award for one of its new school buildings, Coláiste Choilm, in Offaly; University College Cork; Ecocem; and Nemos Horticultural.

The Irish judging panel augmented by an external panel of 22 internationally recognised sustainability experts from Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. They were drawn from Government, NGO and private sector organisations. The international judges reviewed entries across all categories.
