Esat BT has reduced the cost of its BT Openzone wireless broadband service for businesses. The telecoms provider is
consolidating its current subscription packages into a single, new €40 monthly subscription tariff.

The BT Openzone product sets up a Wi-Fi hotspot in a retail business such as a café or bar and allows the proprietor to provide
their customers with high-speed, secure wireless access to the Internet and corporate networks. The service allows anyone with a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop or handheld computer to send and receive large quantities of information at broadband speed while away from their normal place of work.

The new monthly subscription, based on a 12-month contract, provides the retailer with access to 4,000 inclusive minutes of wireless broadband. This equates to three hours a day, every working day a month.

Also, a special one day voucher is now available and it allows workers who spend a lot of time away from the office to access the Internet, their LAN and e-mail from a BT Openzone-enabled wireless hotspot for €15. A voucher for an hour’s worth of access costs €10.
