The staffing agency says that IT firms’ recruitment cycles are becoming longer and that candidates’ ‘soft skills’ are becoming just as important as their technical expertise. The firm also claims that candidates are changing their approach to job-hunting; with salaries becoming less of a focus and good benefits packages an added attraction.
The Rescon IT annual salary survey also reveals that the number of permanent IT positions being registered with the firm rose steadily throughout 2003, while the contract recruitment market also showed positive signs of improvement.
According to the recruitment company, the signs are that there will be increased opportunities for candidates and healthy recruitment within the IT sector in 2004.
