Qualcom Systems, an independent IT and data management company, has been appointed Ireland’s first reseller of the IBM System Storage N range. This is a family of multi protocol storage systems catering for the needs of Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks (SAN), IP SAN, and Network Attached Storage (NAS) customers simultaneously. It is a cost-effective, scalable system that is simple to maintain while giving unmatched levels of performance and a low total cost of ownership.

Storage systems such as the IBM N5200, N5500 and N3700 series allow customers to implement a storage facility that suits their budgets and operational requirements while providing the ability to scale up over time without the need for hardware replacement.

The IBM N series storage systems offer built-in data resilience, enabling rapid recovery of both databases and unstructured file sharing data.

The IBM N5200 and the N3700 series cater for all potential storage requirements of the small to medium sized enterprise, while the IBM N5500 series caters for the more intensive computing environment. All the systems are designed to service a range of storage needs, from mission-critical data access and disk-to-disk back up, to data retention and archiving facilities.

Qualcom MD Ken Breen said: “High availability of mission-critical information is vital in business. The IBM N series provides robust and functional data storage and management software that enables our clients to protect and recover data almost instantly. We are delighted to become Ireland’s first reseller of the series.”

IBM Ireland’s sales director, Peter O’Neill, said: “Companies often don’t have the resources to invest as much as they would like in managing their IT infrastructure. Together, Qualcom and IBM deliver proven solutions that combine best of breed technologies to reduce expense, increase efficiency and achieve operational goals that would otherwise be beyond their reach.”
