Practical eBusiness is a new CD-ROM from Enterprise Ireland which is aimed at anyone who’s interested in implementing eBusiness projects.

The aim of the CD is to help Irish managers determine how best to deploy eBusiness and IT within their organisation in order to successfully grow their business and to remain competitive. It is designed to be devoid of jargon and to be understandable by people with little or no IT expertise.

The CD, which has also been published as a handbook, is based on in-depth analysis of the experiences of 70 local companies supported under Enterprise Ireland’s eBusiness Acceleration Fund. Under this Fund, grants of almost EUR12.7 million were approved to assist Irish companies in implementing various eBusiness projects. The advice on the Practical eBusiness CD is illustrated by case studies on how many of these companies set about putting their new projects into practise. As well as highlighting the pitfalls that they encountered, the CD shows how these firms found solutions which have allowed them to successfully grow their businesses.

Rather than focusing solely on technology for its own sake, this practical CD shows how to solve practical IT problems such as managing the people affected by the IT projects and finding the right eBusiness vendors.

The CD is broken down into a number of different sections, allowing users to dip into the areas most relevant to them. Moreover, Enterprise Ireland also has a companion website (www.openup.ie) which includes extra case studies, news and the opportunity to sign up for a fortnightly ezine newsletter.

If you want to take advantage of IT and eBusiness, then this CD makes for essential reading.

The Practical eBusiness CD-ROM has been produced by the Direct Marketing consultancy, Inspiration. For further information contact Inspiration on +353 (0)1-2303184 or visit the website www.inspiration.ie.
