An Irish gaming software company has received a US patent notification for its gaming exchange system which aims to provide users with unique access to the American sports betting market worth an estimated $380 billion per annum.
Dublin-based Marketmaker Software’s Oddsfutures.com platform is an odds exchange game which allows users to bet on the progress of sports team or athletes in the same way they would normally invest in a stock or a share.
"Although the newly patented Oddsfutures.com site bridges the gap between financial markets and sports, the core exchange software is also interchangeable as a fully-fledged betting exchange and is totally unique in that it is completely deployed in the cloud," said Marc Butterly, CEO.
Marketmaker Software’s exchange platform will also make its business-to-business sales trade debut at ICE Totally Gaming 2013 in London on 5 February.
The Oddsfutures.com patent notification means that Marketmaker Software can now proceed to the next step and select a larger gaming partner to commercially licence the cloud-based exchange platform for betting exchange purposes.
Butterly added that Marketmaker Software would be seeking exclusive initial licensing agreements and revenues of up to $2 million per annum from gaming software companies looking to integrate a betting exchange into their offering.
