Parking Tag has expanded to Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company and outside of Dublin for the first time, to Arklow Town Council and Wicklow Town Council. Operated by Payzone, Parking Tag allows motorists to pay for their parking by SMS or through an app using a registered debit or credit card.

The service, which has over 47,000 motorists registered, has operated in Dublin City since 2009 and has expanded to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin County Council areas. Today, Parking Tag accounts for 20% of Dublin City Council’s on-street parking revenue.

Commenting on the announcement, Jim Deignan, managing director, Payzone Ireland, said: “This is a service that we see extending into many other towns throughout Ireland and we are very encouraged by the discussions and feedback we are getting from other local authorities around the country.”
